I do not feel the government is the one that should write off in full or half the student loan. There are 4 main parties that are responsible.
The University – Your University is one the main player that benefits from the loan – The university raised their fees when they heard that the government will pay any education cost. This got so out of hands that now the government cannot support those fees. Your loan is making some those university rich but sadly many the courses materials and teachers are outdated, they, themselves need to get back to school to upgrade their skills. Does anyone ever wonder why no money education is taught in school? The university put a pretty big smart label on their institution and their degrees but wait, what it means :)?? It’s like selling cheap potatoes and putting the label Ferrari on it with the price of a Ferrari but it doesn’t perform close to it. Like the British will say: ” Shame on you”, the university should help the young people to get educated not help themselves to get themselves rich and impoverish a whole generation of young people. Those books could cost less now with Technology, some those Teachers doesn’t even know how to use tools like excel and powerPoint and many of those teacher teachings about business never started their own.
DUO or the loan company or whoever gives you the loan. Working people and Business cannot just get a loan without the Bank carrying an affordability check on the borrower. or PD probability default checks. Student in USA can get into 1 million dollars in student loan just like that, there is no limit. In many countries in Europe student have a limited amount of student loan they can spend every month but wait after that student reached their limit with their student loan now they can apply for unlimited credit cards. People that get a salary cannot even get 1 credit card from the Bank.
The parents, I am wondering how many parents take the time to teach their kids about money, apart saying money and rich people are evil what else is going on for you in that area?? and how many of those parents take part in their kids’ university application. Many parents pride themselves that their kids are going to University but at what cost??
The student, many students don’t know why they are studying what they are studying, they do it because all their friends are doing the same thing. Many don’t know what job they can do with the degree or Master they are doing. Many don’t understand that the loan they are enjoying is a debt that can destroy the rest of their life. Many are misinform or don’t want to know, Many weren’t informed properly about the loan, the debt the study they are taken. The worst part is it seems many find it normal to not know, to be in debt, they just accept it, they even may say something like well my Dad study Photography, even got his Master but then later he went back to uni to study something completely different. People don’t seem to be able to calculate, do the Math.. if your study going to cost you 65k + and your first job for a long time[ lets say 10-15 years] is not going to pay more then 40k is it really worth it? Plus people forget we are living in Era of skills, not paperwork. In my time people with degree and Phd were rare so they were well paid but in these days there are more Phd then mushrooms in the forest. Companies like Amazon, Google even the Dan Lok guy no longer ask for a degree from their candidate.
Many students are not just borrowing to study, they borrow to get their own place despite they could still live with their parents and save off, they are out every night drinking, spending on holidays and designer clothing, they want to live “NOW” the Kardashian lifestyle, be like Kylie Jenner. Some will argue why should I be poor when Social Media is showing only the rich and famous people, bring on my credit cards, let’s blow this now….Some got like 20 credit cards, should the government write that off too? What about the student that already paid their loan? should they get their money back too?
Education could be cheaper if the university made it cheaper, this is not a government issue.

The student could get some their loan to be write off if they all take legal action against the university and the institution that give them the loan for misinformation as it seems many are not informed. Those institutions know what they are doing I am not sure that those young people do all understand what is going on and for that point alone, there is a disadvantage of power here.
The loan that was used mainly for the education could be argued to be write off by the university because they make the fees and the institution that gives the loan for misinformation. More effort to inform those young people regarding money and the right education for them needs to be put in place by the university and the financial institution.
The credit cards and the money used to go to a restaurant with friends and buy expensive clothing I don’t think anyone should get that for free in our society where working people are paying tax.

We need to help each other in this society but we also need to educate people to take responsibility for their choice and behaviour. The student has some accountability here to know how much they spend that was not related to their education. Many are getting easy access to finance and many are not thinking of the consequence of those debts in their future. Teaching young people to face the consequence of their action is not just a moral obligation it is healthy for their soul. Parents that polish their kids so they don’t face any pain may mean well but that kid will never discover the potential they hold inside. What about trusting them to be a man or a woman that know better.

In my time I had no access to any student loan, its ever your parents pay or you get a job, work and study to pay that education.
I did not go to University, I only have a high school certificate but I worked the biggest corporation out there, made more than 6 figure salary, I started my own company as well on the side and I am absolutely debt-free Now. I never had a single debt in my life because I could never borrow money from Banks, I had to work and make the money if I wanted something.
For those that think once they get their first job they will be Billionaire like Kylie Jenner I got some serious bad news to share, a job doesn’t get you rich, you give all your time to the job, if you want to become rich start your own business but know if you cannot manage money and your finance you cannot manage a Business, take some risk, try things, don’t follow the same road than everyone else as you will only end up like everyone else.
A debt will put weight in your life in the future. University prepares people to be working no more and no less, that paycheck may never reach the 45k years so do not take education debt that is over what you can afford in the future.

I also disagree with people that say look at those kids they are the generation of entitlement and expect everything to be given to them. What about the UNIVERSITY that is making a big profit on those kids, the university cost is getting higher and higher because they can see they can make money out those kids. How some those UNIVERSITY people can sleep at night knowing they are making our young people poor to their bone. Those students are convinced that they need a degree, Master degree and PhD in order to get a good job so they can have a better life than their parents, so they take high-risk Loans without the protection of the Affordability check that Banks usually give to the normal working Borrower out there. The student gets the loans and all the credit cards and there are no walls to stop them from destroying themselves.
This fraud meant to impoverish and salve this young generation is the biggest scam of all times. Not only those young people give their lives to study, I mean degree, Master and the Phd take the whole damn life out of you, your 20’s just bloody gone. After that, you get a job that maybe cant convert your monthly expense because you got a rent and debt to pay.
Who is benefiting from our youngster to be poor? The university is the first to get rich, The government need to get on track with those universities Business. If I pay courses I have the right to evaluate the quality of the course if I am not happy I can ask for my money back, why is the university student cant do the same?
The second is the Banks, people with debt still can borrow for a car or a home but they will charge you high interest as you are a high-risk borrower
In this time, many people can get educated online, many big companies have opened their own university, employee doesn’t stop to get educated once you get a job as you been asked to get more professional certificate as what companies need is people with skills, not people with more paperwork. The sooner you get a job to pay off that TOXIC debt the sooner you start to plan a real-life and develop real skills. Proceed with caution with your study as someone is making business on your hopes.
Parents instead to get your kids the latest iPhone, get them a good financial advisor, a career advisor and a good lawyer.

The cost of a degree is expected to rise year after year in those universities, hum sorry I mean those businesses.
The Government need to be involved to stop this scam.
If 500,000 student appeal to take those universities to court for a faux promise and for a high-cost charge on the courses that are not even worth that much they may get their money back and stop this monster to get feed with more student loan But student trust their University, they are too blind to see that they are paying for study 4 times its worth and the institution won’t reduce the cost of the study even if the program still the same then 20 years ago. Their teachers suck but never mind. They ask student to go oversea to do some study but some those kids can’t even find a place to live, oh well try again next year, the longer you stay in your programs the more money we make. Those kids are getting student loans and we can make a profit out of them, its a scam.

🙂 And just to put the cherish on the cakes, some UNIVERSITY doesn’t pay tax but they also received taxpayer money, This scam is so real people. The government need to request transparency of value of all the money from individual, institute, grants, donation that the university received and make this data available to the Public.
We also need to see the data of the cost of those degrees since the university open why they are so high
Some those study doesn’t need to be done in 3,5,10 years but the longer you are in the better they make money out of you.
People trust too much their university, open your eyes.

or is college a scam? by Tai Lopez
or The world’s Greastest scam Truth about Education by the Kwak Brothers
or Why a College Degree is Useless by Warren buffett

When I try to explain those obvious things to some those student, 1 they don’t want to know, they don’t even have the curiosity to check the info then they want the Government to bail them out 🙂 but they didn’t even educate themselves to prevent others to take advantage of them.
companies work hand and hands with the university scammer for a time to ask their new candidate what degree they got, which school until they realise they need people with work experience and skills then they drop that nonsense as Business need to survive, for real.
Business takes people with a Phd, at apprentice program in their company, paying them what 25K if lucky for training to become a worker in 3 years. That’s another scam, they get cheap workman on board, people don’t use their brain they all find these all normal.
Those study that takes 3, 6, 10 years doesn’t need to take all these times, especially not in the fast world we are living now, by the time some those people finish their study, some of their jobs get replaced by the AI or automated. I feel sorry for the ignorance of some people out there.
